Vice President of East Coast News (ECN)
In 1966, James Brown said, “It’s a Man’s Man’s Man’s World,” and in 2017, after being named Vice President of East Coast News, Lynda Mort said, “not anymore.” While ECN is conscious about gender diversity, the adult entertainment industry is still predominantly male. Execs like Mort and companies like ECN are trying to change that.
According to her colleagues, Lynda was an easy choice for Vice President of East Coast News, the largest U.S. distributor of adult entertainment and novelties. She brings knowledge from her participation in Fortune 500 firms, a wide breadth of education, and personal work ethics. She holds master degrees in both design and business, and has always been attracted to the corporate world. She started a successful event planning business in college, which she eventually sold to gain experience in such disparate industries as healthcare, aerospace, and pleasure products.
Although Mort is somewhat new to the pleasure products industry, she’s definitely not novice or naive. Prior to ECN, she spent almost a combined decade as the Director of Private Brands and Licensing for Topco, and as Director of Strategic Planning for XR Brands. Her experience and reputation at both of these companies led her to ECN’s open door.
As Vice President, her primary responsibilities for ECN include creating and communicating the company’s vision with employees, vendors and customers. Lynda acts as a liaison between the goals for the company, and the output of her staff. Aside from leading and directing, she also contributes to sales and profitability as determined by strategic planning. With deep roots in customer service, she understands the changing needs of a growing industry, and how to combine business acumen with the personal connections today’s consumers are seeking.
Mort, throughout her career, has brought her passion and natural aptitude for leadership into all of her roles. It’s no surprise that after a short 8 months with ECN, she was nominated as Business Executive of the year in 2017 for XBIZ’s Adult Industry Business Awards, Exec of the Year in 2018 for Storerotica Awards, and is credited for ECN’s various company nominations as well.
When Mort isn’t paving new paths for ECN, you may find her getting lost in the woods with a friend, chowing down on Italian food or kicking butt in a pilates bootcamp. And aside from her genuinely ambitious nature, Mort has been described as fiercely loyal, kind and protective. Her own work and titles speak for themselves, painting her as strong, logical, confident and sharp.
